Highlighting that the historic caravan route serves as a bridge preserving Anatolia’s cultural memory, Altay said:

“Shaped by the vision of the Seljuks, we aim to integrate this route with sustainable tourism, contributing to both our region’s economy and leaving a legacy for future generations. This route will offer a unique experience for hikers, history enthusiasts, and photographers, making a significant impact on regional tourism. Directional sign installations have already begun, and the promotional walks are set to start in April.”

Selçuk University History Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Hasan Bahar emphasized that Alaaddin Keykubad had two capitals: Konya and Alanya, saying:

“We didn’t want to just talk about this road in conference halls. The route includes historic roads dating back to the Hellenistic and Roman periods. I strongly encourage people to explore and walk along this newly established route.”
